Talk to any entrepreneur or small business owner and you’ll quickly learn that starting a business requires a lot of work. planing a business idea is a great starting point, but an idea doesn’t become a business without a massive effort. Some entrepreneurs understand the effort of creating a business, but they might not be familiar with the many steps required to launch a successful business. If you’re willing to put in the effort to build a business, you’re going to want to know the steps needed to reach your goals.

STEP1: Do Your Research

Most likely you have already identified your business idea, so now, its time to balance it with a little reality.

Most people who are just starting make the mistake of looking for a product first, and a market second.
To skyrocket your chances of success, start with a market.

In order for a small business to succeed it has to solve problems. It has to fill the need or challenge of the market place on a daily bases with valuable content

As you explore the market, some of the questions you should answer include:

  • who is my ideal client?
  • Who needs what I offer?
  • DO keyword research and see what people are searching for
  • What is the competition like?
  • How will your business fit into the market

STEP2: Make A Plan

You need a plan in order to make your business ideal a reality. A business plan is a blueprint or daily method of operation that will guide your business from the start-up phase through grow-phase and eventually business growth, and it is a must-have for all new businesses.

STEP3: Design and build your website

Once you’ve got your market and product, and you’ve broken down your selling process, now you’re ready for your small-business web design. Remember to keep it simple.

You have fewer than five seconds to grab someone’s attention — otherwise, they’re gone, never to be seen again.

Some important tips to keep in mind:

1 Build an audience

It’s no secret that having a large audience is valuable. Take a look at all the top earners you see online today in any industry. Look at what they all have in common? They have a large audience of people who know who there are and more importantly, will buy anything from them.

How do I build my audience?

Perfect question!

Here is the true fact, Instead of me giving you some temporary marketing tips that will only work for a few months, I’ll tell you how to grow your audience regardless of what month, a year or a century we’re in. Sound good?

Here it is…

Create valuable content in your specific niche on a regular basis. This is the key to growing a massive audience that will love you and of course, buy from you. Your audience is the key to everything in your business to move forward, inside the audience you are building is where you’ll find your soon to leads, prospect, sales and sign up and they are just waiting for you, you must constantly be building your audience every single day.

Sounds pretty simple right!? That’s because it is. But the sad reality is most people aren’t willing to put in the work to build their audience.

Why? Because It’s just that… But, I know you’ve got what it really takes to make it happen.

Picking a platform

When it comes to building your audience, you need to know where they hang out. This is where we choose a platform in which to create content.

There are many different platforms to choose from when trying to grow your audience.

 Here are some of the examples,

Facebook fan page likes and followers, Youtube subscribers, Twitter followers, Instagram followers, Facebook messenger subscribers, and your email list subscribers, Now “Important Note” here, I recommend picking one audience above to build and in addition to your email list of subscribers and focus ‘only’ on building that one audience.

Sound familiar? And that’s just scratching the surface.

Here’s what I want you to understand and this is really important…

You must pick something you love, passionate about and know you will stay consistent with.

If you hate writing and know you will give up after a few weeks, then don’t start blogging ‘period’.

If you have what it takes or maybe you enjoy talking to a camera, then start a YouTube channel. Highly recommended.

One of the biggest factors to growing your audience is to consistently show up in the platform you chose to grow your business and in doing so people will stat o recognize fast. but you have to show up with delivering valuable content that helps and solve some of their problems

STEP4: Pick A Theme

A theme is the design of your WordPress website will actually look like.

The cool thing about themes nowadays is that you won’t have to do any coding and stuff to make your blog look beautiful and attractive.

As a matter of fact, I created this same website you’re on right now without knowing how to do a single line of code. Pretty cool right!

So, the big question…

What theme should you pick?

While it’s tempting to use a free theme (which you absolutely can do), I recommend one of the following themes, and I’ll tell you why for each.

STEP4: Use search engines to drive targeted buyers to your site.

Pay-per-click advertising is the easiest way to get traffic to your brand new site. It has many advantages over waiting for the traffic to come to you from google organically. First, PPC ads show up on the search pages immediately, and second, PPC ads allow you to test different keywords, as well as headlines, prices and selling approaches.

STEP5: Establish yourself as an expert and leader

People use the internet for finding information so you have to provide valuable information to address their people’s needs and it has to be free. And you’ll see better traffic to your site and high ranking.

The secret is to always provide a clickable link in your information, the reason for that is, you look like an expert in front of the person searching for that information.

  • Give away free content, free training videos, create any quality article that people will see valuable
  • You should include “send to a friend” links on valuable content on your website.
  • Become an active expert in industry forums and social networking sites where your target audience hangs out.

STEP6: Build An Email List

No matter what niche you’re in, one of the most important things you need to be doing as a marketer is building an email list of subscribers.

If you plan on building a successful business online and you are not using both a capture page and an autoresponder, you are very far behind.

Why is building an email list so damn important? One word my friend…

When you build an email list of subscribers in a specific niche, they are interested in what you have to offer, which can be the most leveraged and profitable thing you can have in your business.

Let’s say for instance, that you are brand new to affiliate marketing and you want to promote a product.

So, you find something that you’re happy to promote and believe your target audience will benefit from it and would be happy to buy.

Let’s also say that I pick the same exact product to promote as well, only I’ve done the work of building an email list of thousands of people who I know are more likely to be interested in that product.

Who do you think will make more sales?

If you said the person with the bigger list, you’re right.

I don’t show this to limit you but to help you understand how powerful email marketing is.

When you consistently have leads/subscribers coming into your email funnels, you’ll never have to worry about running out of customers again.

So, how do you go about adding people to your list? Great question!

How To Build An Email List

In order to build your list, you will need SOME software. I’ve mentioned it already, but I’ll give you one more chance to get them if you haven’t already. If you’ve already got this software then you’re good.

Once you’ve set up your accounts you now have the tools to start building your email list. So what comes first?

Create A Lead Magnet

Creating a lead magnet is the first and most crucial step to start generating leads and growing your business.

There are many types of lead magnets you can create to start collecting emails: Cheatsheets, guides, reports, video courses, toolkits, ebooks, etc.

 Here are some things to keep in mind when creating your lead magnet:

  • It must be FREE – If you charge for your lead magnet, your conversions will dramatically decrease. Most of the time, this is because people don’t know who you are at first. So, they don’t trust you enough to buy a product from you. Trust me on this one, keep it FREE.
  • It must be SIMPLE – Although you may come up with 1,000 different ways to help people in your niche, the reality is they are not going to read your 10,000-page ebook or 25-hour free e-course. Make sure your lead magnet is simple, yet helpful.
  • It must be of VALUE – This is the most important part of your lead magnet. Actually put time into thinking about what your ideal client needs help with and create your lead magnet to specifically help them with this problem. Create something that you would actually charge money for, then give it away for free.
  • It must be SPECIFIC – Take the time to go deep into the mind of your ideal client. What’s the one or two things they really need help with. Figure out what keeps them awake at night. What drives them? If you can create a lead magnet specifically to cater to this, your conversions will skyrocket.

STEP7: Increase the lifetime value of a current customer

One of the most important internet marketing strategies is to increase a customer’s lifetime value. At least a percentage of people who have purchased from you once will buy from you again if you follow up with them. Closing that first sale is by far the most difficult and hardest part, not to mention the most expensive. So use value-leader thus back-end selling and upselling to get them to buy again
